Hidden down a short country road it’s just a stones’ throw from historic Christchurch and the resort town of Bournemouth. A welcome respite for locals and travellers alike, all the family will be greeted with a warm and friendly welcome, delicious home cooked food and a vast array of beverages to fulfil the most voracious of appetites, all provided by proprietors Gill & Mick Macauley. Our country Inn is located in the Dorset village of Burton, a historic village itself in that it was once home to the writer and poet Robert Southey (in the 1790’s), and also to the Royal Navy commander and diplomat Edmund Lyons who was born and lived in the parish of Burton from 1790-1858.
